My husband and I have an active sex life, we are both healthy, and my periods are regular. However, we have still not conceived - please help!

You need to remember that it's not possible to determine the reason for your infertility until you undergo tests to find out if your husband's sperm count is normal; if your fallopian tubes and uterus are normal and if you are producing eggs. Only after undergoing these tests will your doctor be able to tell you why you are not conceiving. While testing can cause considerable anxiety, it's far better to intelligently identify the problem so that we can look for the best solution. .

My husband's sperm count varies every time we test it! How do we determine what his "real" sperm count is?

A man's sperm count can vary considerably, even from week to week. Sperm count and motility can be affected by many factors, including time between ejaculations, illness, and medications. If analysis shows consistent problems he should consult with your doctor to try and identify the cause.

We are not sure if my husband has viable sperm. Can he be tested when we come to your clinic and what happens if there is a problem?

Yes, he can provide a sample for analysis when you arrive. It is rare for a man to have no live sperm although this can happen. There are procedures we can use such as PESA/TESE and ICSI to assist with fertilization. We also have a sperm donor bank if all else fails.

I am 43 am I too old to use my own eggs for IVF?

Women over the age of 40 often have problems maintaining a viable pregnancy. If success has not occurred after one or two IVF cycles then your chances of success are minimal.

What options do I have if I am over 45 years of age to carry my own baby?

Egg donation is an excellent option and has as high a success rate as for young women under 30. It is the age of the donor that is most important and is a satisfying way to have a baby.

I am 48, am I too old to have a Donor Egg transfer?

No, we use this procedure with women up the age of 55. Providing you are medically able to carry a pregnancy you have a high chance of success as it is the age of the donor that is important.

Can I choose my Egg Donor before I travel to Thailand?

Yes, most patients do this to reduce the time they need to spend here. It also enables us to confirm your Donor's availability.

Can I meet my Egg Donor when I come to Thailand?

Yes, this can usually be arranged

Do you have Caucasian Egg Donors?

Not usually, our donors are young Thai women.

How long do I need to be in Thailand if I come to your clinic for IVF treatment?

You would need to spend about 23 days in Thailand, starting from Day 1 of your cycle. You need to come to the clinic for only 4- 5 visits.

If my IVF cycle fails how long must we wait before trying again ?

You can cycle back to back if you wish.

If I decide to stay in Thailand until we confirm the pregnancy with an ultrasound, is it safe for me to fly back after that?

Yes, flying will have no effect on your pregnancy.

When can I fly home after the transfer?

You need to rest for 2 days after the transfer on the third day you can travel.

I am thinking of using your Surrogacy service, can I combine this with PGD Gender Selection?

Yes, it is a popular choice as the Gender selection process can be done when the embryos are at 8 cells after fertilization.

How old are your Surrogates and how do we know we will be successful?

Our Surrogates are aged up to 38 and have had a previous successful pregnancy. Your chance of a first time pregnancy will partly depend on how viable your eggs are. However, most couples achieve success if they stay with the program.

Are there laws in Thailand that might prohibit me using your Egg Donor and Surrogate Programs?

No, but you should check with an attorney in your home country to make sure of the legal situation there.

Is Gender Selection legal in Thailand?

Yes, there are no laws governing it at this stage.

Can you help with travel and hotel accommodation ?

Of course! You can email your requirements to Ms Venus at our International Patient Care Team, venus@ivfmiraclebaby.com , she will be pleased to help you.

I am a little nervous coming to Thailand is it safe?

Thai people have a friendly and helpful nature but like any country you should take sensible precautions. There are very few crimes committed against visitors to our beautiful country. We also meet you at the airport when you arrive, take you to and from your hotel to the hospital and our Support Team can help organize excursions, short vacations and even shopping trips so that you can feel safe and secure during your stay.
